A brief guide to our Parish
Our Parish is led by Monsignor Canon Robert Draper assisted by Deacon Jonathan Simon. There are 3 active Committees running Parish Affairs: Parish Pastoral Council; Finance Committee and a Property Committee. There are numerous groups which operate behind the scenes and keep the Parish going: Sacristans, Altar Servers, Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist, Stewards, Flower Arrangers, Children's Liturgy, First Holy Communion and Confirmation Groups just to name a few.
Church
The Church dates back to 1891 with the arrival of the Religious of Christian Instruction. These Sisters came from Ghent in Belgium and acquired the land in Westbury through the agency of Doctor William McEnery. The architect of the Church was Canon Scholes. He built a number of Churches in the area so the design and layout are similar to the Holy Ghost in Yeovil and St Luke & St Teresa in Wincanton.

Safeguarding
The Parish of Sacred Heart & St Aldhelm takes Safeguarding extremely seriously. All Religious, paid Staff and Volunteers with substantive roles that may come into contact with Children, Young and Vulnerable Adults through Parish life are checked via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
The Parish Safeguarding Officer is Kristine Mountain. She can be contacted in the Parish Office on 01935 812021.
